Reviewing
The procedure of manuscript reviewing in the scientific journal "Linguostylistic Studies" involves several steps and stages.
At the first stage, the editorial board determines:
- compliance of the article content with the research scope of the scientific journal;
- the presence/absence of plagiarism;
- compliance with the basic requirements for the structural and semantic organization of the manuscript of the article;
- the possibility of reviewing.
Time limit – 10-14 days
The second stage implies:
- appointment of two reviewers whose scope of the scientific interest is relevant to the topic of the article;
- blind peer review of the article by two independent experts;
- filling out a standardized form, where the reviewers reflect one of these conclusions according to the results of the review: a) recommend the article to print; b) recommend the publication of the article, provided that the reviewer’s comments are taken into account by the author; c) do not recommend the article for printing due to the significant shortcomings (if the article gains less than 12 points, the reviewer may reject it);
- sending review information to the author;
- if two reviewers have opposing views on the recommendation to publish the submitted manuscript, the editors discuss all comments with the reviewers to coordinate final position on the possibility/impossibility of publication of this manuscript;
- the final decision on the recommendation to print the article is taken by the editor-in-chief or the editorial board.
Time limit – 6-8 weeks
The third stage concerns the authors who are recommended to revise the article:
- familiarizing the author with the results of the review;
- revision of the manuscript materials and its re-submission to the editorial board;
- if the author disagrees with the reviewers' comments, then he/she gives detailed explanations and comments on all the remarks in a form provided;
- re-review of the article and recommendation for printing in case of positive conclusions.
Time limit – 10-14 days
If the author has not submitted the revised manuscript in due time and has not informed the reasons for this, then the editorial board may re-consider the manuscript when preparing the next journal issue.
