Language Conceptualization of Christ’s Image in the Works of Lesya Ukrainka (Based on the Dramatic Poem «V katakombah»

Abstract

This article analyzes the conceptualized image of Christ in Ukrainian poetic drama works of Lesya Ukrainka. The material of the study was the drama «In the Catacombs». The semantics of concept «Christ» and the peculiarities of its verbalization were elucidated. It was defined that the idea of the triune Christian God was objectified in Lesya’s works. At the same time conceptualizing features of God’s images in dramatic poetic heritage of the writer demonstrate explication of pagan beliefs in their gods and idols about Greek gods. Тhe study showed that analyzed conceptual unit in Lesya Ukrainka’s thesaurus reveals itself as a cultural concept as well as individual author's concept.
